Join us for an exciting evening featuring 3 distinguished speakers at the forefront of biotechnology and innovation!
Hebrew Speaking Event
The Talks
1. Animal Free Bio-Convergence Dr. Shai Melcer / Head of the National Bio-convergence Program Dr. Shai Melcer heads the National Bio-convergence Program, working with multiple partners in the Israeli government to promote the field as an economic driver via excellence in multi-disciplinary R&D, specialized human capital, infrastructure, and regulatory policy. Shai is also an associate lecturer for Biotechnology at the Hebrew University. Linkedin >>
2. Organ-on-a-Chip: A New Tool for Studying Human Physiology Prof. Maoz develops cutting-edge Organs-on-a-Chip technology to model human physiology, advancing drug testing and disease research. His lab integrates smart sensors to study brain function and link multiple organ systems for high-throughput screening (HTS). The use of Organs-on-a-Chip is to investigate human physiology in health and disease. These microfluidic devices, populated with human cells, replicate organ function, offering a groundbreaking approach to studying complex biological systems without direct human experimentation. Prof. Maoz's lab develops cutting-edge lab develops and implements this technology to unlock fundamental insights into human physiology. Linkedin >>
3. Plant-Based Growth Mediums Dr. Dana Yarden / Co-founder @ BioBetter In the Animal-Free world, innovation and adaptability are key to success-BioBetter began as a cellular agriculture company and, since 2021, has specialized in the production of growth factors for the cultivated meat industry. However, as the market slowed down, we faced a challenge: how to remain relevant? The solution was a strategic shift - utilizing the same proteins in a new application - leading us to enter the cosmetics industry. Linkedin >>
